I have maintained a studio practice in London for the last 20 years. My work deals with the deconstruction and reinvention of iconic imagery; it is often very personal but not obviously so, as I use motifs as stand in actors for my emotional response to the world. I want the painting or art piece to take me somewhere beyond the illustration of an idea; so my work will undergo many stages both in preparatory studies and within the final paintings. Drawing plays a fundamental role in my practice. I also use printmaking and process techniques developed by myself as a means to create another dimension to my work.
